OCIA CLASSES
Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is the process through which individuals become Catholic. It includes a thorough education on the teachings of the Church, involves an integration into the community of faith, and culminates with the sacraments of initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. It constitutes the beginning steps of a lifelong relationship with the Church.
Every year on Holy Saturday during the Easter Vigil, our churches-along with the univsersal Church-welcome new Catholics through the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and First Eucharist. Individuals seeking to become Catholic prepare for this night by participating in our OCIA program.
If you are not Catholic, but would like to learn more about what it means to be Catholic, or if you are Catholic and would simply like to learn more about your faith, we invite you to participate in our OCIA program at St. Mary.
ALPHA CLASSES Alpha is an internationally known program that helps create a space for honest conversation around some of life’s biggest questions. It is designed to provide participants an opportunity to connect with one another while providing the opportunity to share thoughts, ideas, and opinions in a safe and caring environment. Alpha helps bring people together while providing the chance to encounter Jesus.Each meeting begins at 7pm with a communal dinner (provided), followed by a 30-minute video and small group discussion. People with a faith background of any kind, no faith background, and practicing Catholics are all invited to open or deepen their relationship with Jesus throughout this 11-week course.
