Mother/daughter program March 14 in Lincoln LINCOLN (SNR) – A mother/daughter program will be presented for 10- to 13-year-old girls and their mother (or other supportive female adult) Saturday, March 14 from 9 a.m. to noon at the John XXIII Diocesan Center, 37th and Sheridan in Lincoln. The program is an opportunity for mothers and their daughters to explore God’s gift of human fertility and the beauty and wonder of growing up and becoming a woman. Topics include: the changes in a young woman’s body as it prepares for motherhood; the onset of ovulation and menstrual periods; the functions of the female reproductive system; the sacredness of human life; the virtue of chastity; and a confidential question-and-answer segment. The purpose of the program is to provide an atmosphere of love and learning to discuss the important topic of growing up and to establish a foundation for continued communication between parent and child. Early registration is suggested, as the event usually sells out. The cost is $25 per child and mother, or $35 per family. The cost of the event includes a gift for each girl.
